Flow Into May

April was a rollercoaster. One day I was in flow, the next I was back rewriting my capstone.

That’s the reality of life sometimes, it moves, shifts, and doesn’t always follow the plan.

But something became really clear to me this month that feels important to share… these small wellness moments I’ve been practicing? They’re doing more for me than I ever realized.

They’re not just habits… they’re anchors.

So if your days have been feeling random, rushed, or a little all over the place, here are 3 simple ways to make fitting in wellness a little easier:

1. Lower the bar (a lot).

Wellness doesn’t have to be an hour workout, a perfect meal, or a full morning routine. Some days it’s a 5-minute walk. A glass of water before coffee. One deep breath before reacting. Stacy Sims says, a couple of bites of yogurt and honey right after you wake up. Small still counts. And honestly, small is what sticks.

2. Attach it to what you’re already doing.

You don’t need more time, you need better placement. Take a few breaths while your matcha brews. Stretch or do squats (or get steps around the kitchen) while dinner cooks. Pause in your car before walking inside. Wellness doesn’t have to be separate from your life… it can live inside it.

3. Let it support you, not stress you.

If your “wellness routine” feels like another thing you’re failing at, it’s not working. This is here to hold you, not pressure you. To regulate your body, not control it. Take a moment to be in the moment. Breaks are nervous system support. Some days it will look structured. Some days it will look like doing the bare minimum, and that’s enough. You don’t need a perfect routine. You need a few moments that bring you back to yourself.
